Ameeta Agnihotri
Ameeta Agnihotri is a woman who dons many roles. She is dynamic, has travelled far and wide, explored food culture the world over and writes about them on her blogs http://silentsensation.blogspot.com/ http://fascinatingtastes.blogspot.in/ This author of over 10 books started out her writing career early. Poetry and prose graduated to features in several publications – broadsheets, magazines and online. An editor noticed her talent with food and sent her off to review the few food festivals and new restaurants that opened in a conservative Chennai, more than 23 years ago. She now spots food trends and likes to be constantly up-to-date. Knowledgeable, she is fun, gregarious, gracious and knows her food – something she serious about. ‘When I am doing my job, I’m there for a reason, and that reason is the food,’ says the lady who takes meticulous notes. During the pandemic, she organized the highly successful Gourmet Passport Home Chefs of Chennai contest and judged a couple more online. Home Chefs and their cooking / baking always intrigued her. In fact all food intrigues her. She loves the mystery of cuisine. Lately, the lady has connected with her childhood hobby – crochet. Busy as her day may be, she makes sure she gets in a couple of hours with her yarns and hooks. ‘Crochet is very meditative,’ she says. ‘Life is as interesting as you make it. A hunger for knowledge and experiences rule mine.’ Updated, bold and independent this Times of India Food Critic, DineOut Passport Brand Host and ChefPin Brand Ambassador says, ‘The world has gone digital. Everybody is into social media now.’
