Ruchyeta Bhatia

Founder, Love and Cheesecake, Poetry and Sesami – Asian Kitchen + Bar

A through-and-through Mumbai girl, Ruchyeta majored in Economics at Jai Hind College. After graduation, she started her career in Marketing at Nielsen and subsequently Ogilvy. She left her job and started exploring ideas to start a business of her own. She started the Paintball Club in Lonavala when she came back, which was a resounding success. But her heart was always in F&B.

In November 2012, Ruchyeta founded Brewworks Pvt. Ltd. that runs 3 F&B brands in Mumbai – Love and Cheesecake – dessert cafes, Poetry – all-day dining cafe and Sesami – Asian Kitchen + Bar. Currently, the company runs 18 outposts in Mumbai.

As we enter our tenth year we have combined our learning over the past decade and are entering Delhi. With the first outpost of Love & Cheesecake set to open in February 2022, we will be bringing some of our most loved desserts and confectionery whilst introducing a whole new host of desserts this year with seasonal fruits and classic bakes.

The year 2020 was a paradigm shifting consumer habits, it was the year of learning for us as a company and as a family of 300+ team members.  A lot of our values and ethos stood the test of time and allowed us to emerge from the initial shock of the pandemic with new ideas and practices. With a renewed passion to better serve our customers’ needs and at the same time allowing us to re-focus our energies on emerging trends of clean eating, healthy grains & positive sugars.

I also became a mother for the first time just when the pandemic hit and between juggling my twin babies and the business, our team from Anand Ji in HK making sure all guidelines are followed to Chef Yusuf and Chef Negi in our central kitchen always with a smile on his face and Vivek making sure every guest feels safe entering our outlets really stepped up and made sure that we sailed through these tumultuous times.
